Opportunity Summary 

The X Academy is preparing high school students to compete in an underwater remote operated vehicle competition called MATE ROV on April 26, 2025.

We welcome CSUMB Service Learners to serve as mentors to the team, teaching and guiding them in all aspects of engineering - mechanical, electrical, software - and all phases of design, building and testing.

Requirements:

  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Must be 18 or older
  • TB Test
Opportunity Training 

Training will be on-the-job as we go. We will also have a mentor meeting every Tuesday evening to review the past week's progress, assess any problems or concerns and prepare for the week ahead.

At our Tuesday evening mentor meetings, we assess and solve problems together.
