Opportunity Summary 

Volunteer volleyball coach for our youth spring volleyball season.

Coaches are responsible for:

  • Creating a practice routine and skill drills throughout the 8-week season.
  • Attending all games
  • Communicating with parents and SPR staff so that everyone is on the same page

1 service learner spot

Requirements:

  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Bilingual Desired
Opportunity Training 

Coaches meeting to review and discuss the rules, expectations and responsibilities of a coach.

Consistent, weekly check ins during practice and game days.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Children 5-13. EL children. Low-income children. Students may be working unsupervised with minor or other vulnerable populations.

Practices for volleyball and basketball are after 5pm-8:30pm. A coordinator, lead or manager is usually on site until 8:30pm. Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people.
