Opportunity Summary 

Farm Discovery seeks a Service Learner to support data collection, entry, and evaluation efforts related to our sustainable agriculture and environmental education programs. Interns will help quantify soil health outcomes, biodiversity metrics, and youth learning outcomes from summer farm programming. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world biological data and contributes to our broader mission of improving environmental and community health through education.

2 Service Learner Slots

By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned:

  • How to collect, organize, and interpret environmental and programmatic data
  • Basic evaluation and reporting methods used in nonprofit science education
  • The ecological and social impact of sustainable farming practices
Opportunity Training 

Orientation on Farm Discovery’s mission and data practices, introduction to our evaluation tools, and training in data collection protocols, including soil health and biodiversity tracking.

Training is also provided for:

  • Data collection
  • Data entry and analysis
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Report writing
  • Program evaluation support
