Position Description:
The Rainbow Raft Student Coordinator will play a key role in supporting LGBTQ+ students by helping to keep the center open during operational hours and co-leading events that reflect the identities and needs of the queer and trans community. This role is vital in helping the center function as an inclusive, affirming, and vibrant space for students.

Availability Hours: M-F 8am to 5pm, and events

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a welcoming presence at the Rainbow Raft Pride Center during open hours

  • Help coordinate the annual Student Summit and other key programs

  • Assist with the planning of staff/faculty LGBTQ+ training sessions

  • Support campus-wide visibility and inclusion events throughout the year

  • Collaborate with students and staff to design programming that meets the needs of the LGBTQ+ community

Preferred Skills/Interests:

  • Passion for queer and trans advocacy and support

  • Ability to understand community needs and design thoughtful programming

  • Strong communication, organization, and peer engagement skills

Interviewing Date: August 8th

Opportunity Training 

Fellows will attend our Affinity Center training. 

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

SUPERVISION: Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people.
