The Point Lobos Foundation is seeking a motivated, dependable service learner to support our team while gaining hands-on nonprofit experience in a stunning natural setting.
Student will:
- Assist with event setup and support
- Manage merchandise inventory
- Help with admin tasks (data entry, post office runs)
- Represent the Foundation with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Gain exposure to nonprofit operations, event coordination, and public engagement.
Ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable engaging with the public, and passionate about nature.
Commitment: 2–3 hours/week, with occasional weekend or evening events.
Location: Point Lobos Foundation office (Carmel) and Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. Some remote work possible.

The student will receive a comprehensive orientation to the Point Lobos Foundation, including our mission, programs, and partnership with California State Parks. Task-specific training will be provided by Foundation staff, covering event logistics, merchandising procedures, and administrative protocols.
Ongoing guidance and mentorship will ensure the student feels supported and confident in each area of responsibility, with opportunities to ask questions, build new skills, and grow professionally throughout the service learning experience.
There are no inherent risks associated with the required work. The student will follow safety protocols while assisting in the office, at events, or on-site, including proper lifting techniques, situational awareness, and adherence to staff instructions to ensure a safe and respectful work environment.
