Live Music Production InternAt — Alisal Center for the Fine Arts (ACFA)

The Live Music Production Service Learning Intern will support ACFA’s music and
performance programs from behind the scenes, gaining hands-on experience in live event
production. Interns will assist with sound, stage management, and performance logistics for
ACFA’s cultural events, student recitals, and community performances. This internship blends
technical skill-building with community engagement, offering students practical experience in
live music production while serving a grassroots arts organization.

1 Service Learner Slot

Key Responsiblities:

• Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of sound systems, microphones, and other production equipment for rehearsals and performances.
• Support ACFA staff and teaching artists with stage management, performer coordination, and show flow.
• Help record, livestream, and archive performances in collaboration with ACFA partners (Hartnell College, CSUMB interns, etc.).
• Maintain and organize production equipment.
• Assist with logistical preparation for community events, including Día de los Muertos, student recitals, and cultural celebrations.
• Collaborate with staff, teaching artists, and youth participants in a professional, supportive manner.

Qualifications:

• Interest in live music, sound engineering, or performing arts production.
• Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment preferred but not required (training provided).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and in a team.
• Comfortable working with youth, families, and community members.
• Available to work within ACFA’s program hours (Tues & Thurs, 5–9pm).
