Visual Art Assistant Teaching InternAt — Alisal Center for the Fine Arts (ACFA)
Opportunity Summary 
    The Visual Art Assistant Teaching Artist Intern will support ACFA’s visual art workshops for
children, youth, and families. Interns will assist with lesson preparation, classroom support, art
material setup and cleanup, and help coordinate student artwork for exhibitions and community
celebrations. This role is ideal for students interested in art education, community engagement,
or cultural arts.
1 Service Learner Interest
Key Responsiblities:
- Assist teaching artist with classroom setup, materials, and lesson activities.
- Support youth participants with art projects and skill development.
- Help coordinate student artwork for public displays and events (e.g., Día de los Muertos).
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and safe learning environment.
- Encourage creativity, collaboration, and cultural exploration among students.
Qualifications:
- Interest in visual arts, art education, or community-based arts.
- Experience in drawing, painting, crafts, or mixed media preferred but not required.
- Comfortable assisting children and youth in creative projects.
- Organizational skills to help manage art supplies and prepare classroom materials.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings (Tues & Thurs, 5–9pm).
