Farm Intern - Soloro, IncAt — Soloro, Inc
Soloro is offering an intern position on their half-acre market garden. The intern will learn all aspects of operating a small market garden with a 25 member CSA program. the Intern will gain proficiency in farm activities such as crop planning, seeding, bed preparation, planting, harvesting, packaging, distribution, and marketing. The intern will also learn soil management techniques such as cover cropping, tarping, and low-till. Additionally, the intern will work on habitat creation projects such as a pollinator hedgerow.
1 Service Learner Slot
The farm intern will work closely with the farm manager to ensure successful adoption of concepts and practices. Each week will include both training and self-guided work to ensure assimilation.
Opportunity Supervison
Ongoing support and supervision will be provided through close collaboration with the Farm Manager, who will serve as the primary mentor and point of contact for the student. The intern will work alongside the Farm Manager in daily operations, receiving hands-on guidance and feedback in all aspects of market gardening—from seeding and transplanting to harvesting, record keeping, and marketing.
Regular check-ins will be scheduled to discuss progress, learning goals, and any questions or challenges that arise. The Farm Manager will provide demonstrations and explanations of key practices before students carry them out independently, ensuring understanding and confidence. In addition to daily supervision, interns will be encouraged to reflect on their experiences through brief weekly reviews or discussions, helping connect practical tasks with broader concepts in regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems.
This approach provides consistent, supportive mentorship while allowing the student to develop independence, critical thinking, and a deeper connection to the land and community.
This job requires physical labor and working outside in the elements. Participants should be ready and willing to be active and outside for up to 6 hours with breaks.
