Opportunity Summary 

The B Strong Wrestling Club (BSWC) Service Learning experience provides college students with a meaningful applied-learning environment that directly connects coursework to real-world practice. Service learners support youth athletic development, assist in implementing evidence-based training methods, help manage practice flow, and contribute to creating a safe, motivating learning environment. Students will gain practical experience in mentoring, communication, leadership, and basic coaching strategies, all highly transferable skills for careers across the board.

Participants may also assist with program organization, check-in procedures, equipment setup, and observational data collection as needed. No wrestling background is required; BSWC provides all necessary guidance. This opportunity offers an engaging, hands-on way to fulfill service-learning requirements while building professional competence and confidence.

1 Service Learner Spot

Opportunity Training 

Service learners will be trained directly on the job through guided practice and real-time feedback from coaching staff. Supplemental support is available over the phone to answer questions and ensure students are fully prepared for their responsibilities.

Opportunity Supervision

Ongoing support and supervision will be provided through direct coach oversight during all practices, ensuring students receive real-time guidance and feedback. Students will also have consistent check-ins, clear communication channels, and access to staff for questions or assistance throughout their service-learning experience.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

At this time, no additional safety concerns are anticipated beyond standard supervision and facility guidelines. All participants are expected to follow safety protocols, maintain appropriate conduct, and communicate any injuries or concerns immediately to staff. B Strong Wrestling Club occasionally takes photos or short videos for training, program documentation; service-learning students will be informed of this practice and may opt out of being photographed. No images of minors will be used without parental consent. These measures ensure a safe, respectful, and transparent environment for everyone involved.
