The Volunteer Coordinator is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking hands-on experience managing volunteers in a nonprofit setting. This role supports the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, and coordination of volunteers and interns across multiple programs. The Volunteer Coordinator works closely with staff and serves as a key point of contact for volunteers, helping create a positive, organized, and meaningful volunteer experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with volunteer and intern recruitment and intake
- Support onboarding, orientations, and training sessions
- Help schedule volunteers across programs and departments
- Serve as a point of contact for volunteer questions and support
- Track volunteer hours and maintain accurate records
- Support volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts
- Assist with coordinating service-learning and internship placements
- Help ensure volunteers follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with staff to identify volunteer needs and placements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
All prospective LFC Volunteers shall fill out a Volunteer Application and answer the "Have you ever been convicted of a criminal offense (felony or misdemeanor)?" question.
