Opportunity Summary 

Seeking drivers who deliver food donations to local nonprofit organizations concerned with community food insecurity from as far north as Santa Cruz to as far south as Monterey. California Climate Action Corps fellows are also initiating a gleaning program at Live Earth Organic Farm and are looking for service learners to help harvest produce at the end of the growing season to be donated to local food banks. Service learners may also be asked to help clean and sort produce after gleaning.

10 Service Learner Spots

Opportunity Training 

Either California Climate Action Corps fellows or Grey Bears will train Service Learners how to glean each specific crop and cover basic safety protocols and procedures.

Opportunity Supervision

Our Site Supervisor, California Climate Action Corps fellows, and farm staff will be present at gleaning events, we will do our best to provide adequate training and aniticipate needs, and service learners will be free to ask for any additional support and guidance they need.
