Stem Lab for Elementary Students - John E. Steinbeck Elementary SchoolAt — John E. Steinbeck Elementary School - Alisal Union School District
** Reserved for students enrolled in CST462**
Service Learners will support elementary students by designing and leading an engaging in-class science lab activity. The lab will introduce foundational STEM concepts through hands-on exploration, guided instruction, and age-appropriate experiments that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and/or collaboration.
Reserved for Paige Wheeler & Tony Lopez
Ongoing support and supervision will be provided through regular communication and direct teacher oversight. Service Learners will meet with the classroom teacher via email, Zoom, or in person to review proposed lesson and lab plans, discuss expectations, and make adjustments as needed. The teacher will also supervise all in-class activities to ensure student safety, engagement, and successful implementation of the STEM lesson.
If interested, students should first email the school principal to introduce themselves and express interest in completing their service learning placement at the school site:
Avelina Navarrete, Principal

The principal will then connect them with the appropriate district office staff to complete all required clearance steps, including fingerprinting and TB verification, before they begin working in the classroom.
