All media work must follow student privacy guidelines and media release procedures. Students will receive training on program expectations, appropriate media practices, and student privacy guidelines before supporting K-12 STEAM Program media efforts. Training will include how to take clear and professional photos and videos, how to capture hands-on activities respectfully, and how to follow media release procedures when documenting students. Students will also receive guidance on organizing media files, creating basic social media content, writing captions, and supporting promotional materials such as flyers or digital posts. Additional training may include basic photo and video editing, branding guidelines, storytelling techniques, and best practices for representing K-12 STEAM programs in a positive and professional way. Program staff will provide ongoing support, examples, and feedback to help students build confidence and improve their media skills throughout the opportunity.
