Opportunity Summary

Salinas Valley Health Foundation is beginning to introduce cryptocurrency as an additional giving option for donors. We are seeking a marketing student to assist with the development of a donor-friendly crypto giving launch and communication strategy. This project will provide hands-on experience in:

  • nonprofit marketing
  • fundraising strategy
  • audience research
  • messaging
  • program development.

The student will not be responsible for processing cryptocurrency donations or making financial, legal, or compliance decisions. Those responsibilities will remain with appropriate Foundation staff and external partners.

1 service learner spot.

  • Computer Literacy
  • Must be 18 or older
Opportunity Training

Students will receive an orientation to Salinas Valley Health Foundation, our mission, fundraising goals, and current giving programs. They will be provided with an overview of our existing cryptocurrency giving platform and donation process, as well as relevant organizational materials and resources. The student will receive guidance from the Philanthropic Communications Coordinator throughout the project, including instruction on nonprofit fundraising, donor communications, audience considerations, and our organizational brand and messaging standards. The student will also receive direction on conducting research, developing donor-facing content, and presenting recommendations.

Students will have regular check-ins with their project supervisor to review progress, ask questions, receive feedback, and ensure their work aligns with organizational goals.
