Opportunity Summary 

Food Finders provides students with a great environment to learn about battling food-insecurity in their local communities, as well as focusing on equitable access to nutritious food. Food Finders has several programs and internal positions, allowing students to volunteer or engage in numerous ways.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

A college student volunteering at Food Finders would learn how food rescue nonprofits operate, from logistics and partnerships to the day-to-day coordination required to fight hunger and reduce food waste. They would also gain hands-on experience working with a mission-driven team while developing teamwork, communication, and community-impact skills.

Opportunity Training 

Students will work work alongside employees at all times who will be able to ensure they are properly trained in the task at hand

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will potentially be interacting with members of the community so it is important to respect any personal or cultural boundaries
