Child Development & Sensory Learning InternAt — Touch Play Learn
Touch Play Learn is seeking interns interested in gaining hands-on experience in early childhood development through sensory-based learning programs. Interns will assist with pod classes, weekly enrichment sessions, birthday events, and on-site activities while working directly with children and families in engaging, structured environments. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing careers in child development, early childhood education, psychology, occupational therapy, or related fields. Interns will observe and participate in developmental play activities designed to support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and motor growth while gaining practical experience in classroom facilitation, communication, and program operations.
How sensory-based activities support early childhood development. Effective communication and engagement strategies with young children and families. Basic classroom and group facilitation skills. Professionalism and responsibility within real-world child enrichment environments. How structured play can support cognitive, social, emotional, and motor development.
Students will receive onboarding and hands-on training related to class structure, sensory-based learning activities, child engagement strategies, professionalism, safety expectations, setup/cleanup procedures, and communication with families. Ongoing shadowing and guided participation will also be provided throughout the internship experience.
All activities are conducted in supervised, structured environments focused on child safety and professionalism. Interns will receive onboarding regarding safety expectations, conduct, and appropriate interaction with children and families. Supervisors are present during programming activities and ongoing guidance is provided throughout the internship experience.
Applicants may be asked to participate in a brief interview to discuss interests, availability, and experience working with children. Students should be dependable, professional, enthusiastic, and comfortable working in active, hands-on environments with young children and families.
