Day One is a community-based nonprofit organization with a 25 year history of providing effective, high quality and culturally-sensitive public health education, intervention, policy development and environmental prevention efforts. 

Day One grew out of a collective vision of concerned community leaders in 1987. Their vision was spurred by the drug epidemic in Pasadena and Altadena, especially among youth and in the Northwest area. Since then the organization has become a leader in youth advocacy and community health in the San Gabriel Valley.

The California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) works in partnership with consumers and other stakeholders to provide services and advocacy resulting in employment, independent living, and equality for individuals with disabilities. DOR administers the largest vocational rehabilitation and independent living programs in the country. Vocational rehabilitation services are designed to help job seekers with disabilities obtain competitive employment in integrated work settings. Independent living services may include peer support, skill development, systems advocacy, referrals, assistive technology services, transition services, housing assistance, and personal assistance services.

To provide a learning enviroment for students to apply what they learned in an actual buisness setting.

The mission of the Domestic Violence Center is to: promote and preserve non-violent, non-abusive family systems through intervention, and education, provide round-the-clock shelter and counseling with professionalism and compassion to families in crisis due to violence in the home. 

Opportunities: Participate in programs designed for children and teens with Down Syndrome like hip hop, basketball, baby yoga, parent/child development programs, support groups and hospital outreach.

Los Angeles Unified School District will provide high quality instruction and a coherent and rigorous curriculum in every classroom to facilitate student learning and achievement.

We are an LAUSD pilot high school that has approx. 400 students enrolled. Our mission is to educate our students to become innovative leaders and prepare them for college. We focus on urban development and public policy through our various partnerships and organizations that we work with.
