Social Work Intern/LEND TraineeAt — UC Davis Health Ctr - MIND Institute
The UC Davis MIND Institute is a facility on the UC Davis Health Campus that provides medical care for and research about neurodevelopmental disabilities. The Social Work Intern will participate in various clinical activities supporting families of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Clinical care will include conducting brief social assessments in the High Risk Infant Clinic. It will also include participation in the Family Navigator Program which offers 1:1 and group parent to parent support for families receiving a new diagnosis. This placement also includes an option to apply for the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program. The student will develop leadership skills in providing support and education on neurodevelopmental disabilities. By the end of the placement, the student will be able to complete brief social assessments, navigate the California developmental disability service delivery system, and understand a variety of neurodevelopmental disabilities.
