MSWII Therapist InternAt — Los Rios CCD - Mental Health and Wellness Services
MSWII Interns will be providing one on one and group therapy at any one (or all if remote) of our Los Rios Community College sites (ARC, SCC, CRC, FLC). Interns will work as a part of our LRCCD Center for Mental Health and Wellness team alongside other MSW interns, doctoral level interns, BSW interns and licensed clinicians. Interns will have opportunities to lead groups based on their specific interests and will identify specific populations who they want to work with and build relationships with campus affinity groups to receive referrals. Interns will work with clinicians to provide campus workshops, outreach and trainings. Interns will have the opportunity to witness and participate in the growth and development of our program.
How to do an initial assessment for brief therapy, how to provide short term therapy, how to conduct a group, how to chart appropriately in an EHR. Interns will learn what is is like working in an academic setting as a part of a multidisciplinary team of mental health professions providing campus based support to a diverse group of college students.
Interns will be provided with an initial orientation process to go over basic requirements of our site as well as how we provide short term therapy in an academic setting and document encounters. Interns will observe and participate in mental health trainings for faculty, staff and students and will receive ongoing didactic trainings with group supervisor.
