Opportunity Summary 

As a student intern at Nation's Finest you will participate in enrolling clients into our residential program, collaborate with clients on identifying treatment goals and create Individualized Treatment Plan's for clients. You will meet with client weekly to review goals of treatment plan, offer assistance in meeting goals, if needed, and update treatment plan quarterly. Interns will facilitate one group per week that is curriculum based and appropriate for client demographics and students education level. Student interns participate in facilitating client house meetings and attend med-calls as assigned.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Student interns will have learned how to identify stages of change as they related to treatment planning goals, assist clients with identifying SMART Goals, thereby creating solid treatment plans and apply theory and concepts to real life situations and acquire skills that will help build their identity as a social worker. Students will demonstrate ethical and professional behavior. Assess and intervene with individuals and organizations that serve these individuals.

Opportunity Training 

Students will be assigned a task supervisor who will oversee day to day client assignments and tasks. Field instructor will provide weekly supervision and training specific to writing solid case notes, confidentiality, dual roles, boundaries and other items in the NASW code of ethics which are the foundation of the Social Work profession.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Student interns are expected to wear masks in all common areas and in all meetings with clients. Student interns who are not fully vaccinated are expected to provide a negative COVID test at the beginning of each work week.
