Social Work Intern - BSW & MSW TrackAt — Sacramento City Unified School District - Early Learning and Care Preschool Program
Welcome to the field of school social work! You will be working with preschool students and their families in one of the oldest K-12 districts in the western United States. We will have about 40 preschool or preschool/transitional kindergarten classrooms for 2022-2023 school year. We will be providing direct service to students and families (individual/family counseling and group lessons) as well as consultation to teachers and case management (attending SST and IEP meetings, connecting families with resources). You will have an unique opportunity to gain knowledge and skills about "early intervention" working with this population.
I believe that each intern needs to own his or her learning. While all the interns will gain basic knowledge and skills in areas such as social work values, ethics, cultural diversity and biopsychosocial intake, what you will accomplish will be unique to each intern depending on your learning agreement. My goal as a supervisor is to help you meet your learning goals and be ready to join us as a paid employee when you finish your program.
There will be in house training on curriculum we use as well as outside training that will support student's learning
COVID vaccination required. Students also need to be driving to classroom sites.
