Opportunity Summary 

In this paid role, interns will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to find or maintain jobs. Job duties may take place in a classroom or community based setting and includes instruction and coaching on soft skills and technical skills needed to find a job and maintain a job. Some types of duties include: job exploration, teaching communication skills, assisting to apply for jobs, and job coaching.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The basics of the Regional Center system, how to write measurable objective to be included in an Individual Service Plan, how to provide supports to adults with disabilities in a person centered manner, how to write case notes, organization and time management skills, techniques for working with individuals with disabilities, create curriculum to teach job related skills.

Opportunity Training 

Interns will receive 2+ months of on the job training along with instruction from supervisor and/or designated trainer to compete job duties.
