Opportunity Summary 

The Alzheimer's Association offers the Social Work Intern an opportunity to engage in the Care and Support and/or Advocacy activities. Care and Support activities may include: facilitating support groups, conducting community education workshops, developing outreach activities to reach diverse communities. Advocacy activities may include: participating as a member of an Alzheimer's ambassador/congressional team to advocate for those impacted by dementia, participating in the Alzheimer's Association Advocacy Day, and assist in the planning of the Alzheimer's Association Advocacy Day and other advocacy events.

how to build rapport and engagement with individuals, families, groups, and communities; to assess appropriate interventions for individuals, families, groups, and communities; to navigate local resources impacting older adults and caregivers; to strengthen their public speaking skills; to have a deeper understanding of Alzheimer's/dementia
