Opportunity Summary 

As a student intern at Calvet you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with the Veteran and Aging population. We are a long-term, residential facility with multiple levels of care. Some of the duties of social workers at Yountville are counseling, group work, case management, support with life transitions, family engagement, interdisciplinary work, medical social work, end of life and palliative care, advocacy, community resource referrals etc.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

to provide medically and clinically based social work to an aged veteran population and their spouses.

Opportunity Training 

Students will be trained through the field supervisor and will shadow other social workers at the facility. All employed Social Workers are either LCSWs or ASWs. Students will also review policies and procedures and are required to complete "Relias" trainings online.
