Behavioral Health InternAt — EL Dorado Community Health Center
Intern in Behavioral Health department of a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing integrated care for adults and children seeking therapy for a variety of issues. Primary responsibility is to provide therapy for an ongoing caseload of 8-12 patients and to complete initial assessments for new patients requesting therapy.
Increase assessment skills, including risk assessment. Increase knowledge of DSM diagnoses, differential diagnosis and associated evidence based interventions. Increase knowledge of therapy modalities. Better understanding of what is needed in documentation in an electronic health record.
Students will receive in depth agency and department orientations. Students will participate in weekly huddle (case conference and training), weekly individual or triadic clinical supervision as well as at least weekly one on one task supervisor meetings. Students will attend any in service trainings offered to department staff (at least quarterly). Written materials will also be available to support learning.
Students will be on site in an office setting. Students will be apprised of site based safety and emergency procedures. Licensed providers available regularly and as needed for consultation and assistance. Must complete background check and provide vaccinations or medical exemption required in a healthcare facility.
