DSPS & Disability Cultural Center Social Work Practicum (Community College Setting)At — Sacramento City College - Disability Services and Programs for Students (DSPS)
This practicum provides social work students with hands-on experience supporting college students with disabilities in a community college setting. Interns will work alongside DSPS and Disability Cultural Center staff to assist with case management, student self-advocacy, internal and external resource coordination, outreach, and individualized support services. Students will also help coordinate and implement events and workshops, build campus and community partnerships, and contribute to an inclusive, access-centered learning environment. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in disability services, higher education, advocacy, and community-based support within an interdisciplinary team.

Students will receive an onboarding orientation to DSPS and the Disability Cultural Center, including confidentiality requirements, disability awareness, campus policies, and service delivery procedures. Ongoing training may include shadowing staff, skill-building workshops, and professional development related to disability services, advocacy, and higher education support.
Students will be working in a campus setting and are expected to follow all college safety policies and procedures. Training on confidentiality, professional boundaries, and campus safety protocols will be provided.
