Conservation InternAt — Escondido Creek Conservancy

Opportunity Summary

Position Description

The Escondido Creek Conservancy (TECC) is seeking part-time Conservation Interns to assist with conservation projects in the Escondido Creek watershed.  Interns could assist with TECC’s electronic and print media including newsletter production, website, social media and targeted mail. Interns will help write and place articles in community newspapers and help with the production of materials and/or special events such as hikes. Interns could also help with land management projects, such as removal of invasive plants or animal surveys, and participate in TECC’s education programs.

Interns with video editing and production experience could participate in video projects including creating short videos for the TECC website. Additionally, interns will support the conservancy’s operations by jumping in from time-to-time on special projects which could include research, but could also include less glamourous tasks such as stuffing mailers.

We are seeking special candidates who are high energy, centered and passionate about making a difference in the world. Our ideal intern loves nature and the outdoors, is creative, a clear writer, good at meeting deadlines and comes with a track record of producing high-quality products. Conservation interns must have strong people skills and solid references.  Conservation experience is not as important as an interest in bettering the planet and the ability to help us translate good work into conservation opportunities.

Good written and oral communications skills and excellent people skills. Demonstrable experience with electronic media. Expertise in the Microsoft suite including Excel.

Reporting:
