Position Description

  • Citi Program Certificate training
  • Meet with-Program Supervisor (program overview and tour)
  • Meet with-Facilitator (learn about workshops)
  • Meet with -Data Specialist (learn about how data is collected)
  • Work side by side with a Case Manager
  • Work side by side with a Case Manager
  • Work side by side with a Case Manager
  • Listen in on Phone Screenings of Potential Clients-Program Supervisor
  • Attend a Community Event (if possible)
  • Attend Core Workshops (as available)
  • Attend an Enrollment Day- All staff
  • Attend an Exit Interview-Case Manager
  • Attend a Dad's Club Staff Meeting
  • Attend a Reflective Supervision Meeting with Program Supervisor
  • Attend Two Community meetings-Program Supervisor
  • Assist with preparing for a case manager home visit (other duties maybe assigned)
  • Become Familiar with Additional Services Provided by Vista Community Clinic-Program Supervisor
  • Complete a updated resume
  • As well as other research and creating brochures

Learning Objectives and Outcomes

  • Attend Dads’ Club workshop to become aware of how it improves health of this population. Attend a community meeting, attend a Dad’s club staff meeting, attend an enrollment day meeting and attend an exit interview for the program.
  • Work side by side with a case manager to gain insight on the practices that promote positive healthcare policies.Listen in on phone screening for potential clients.Assist with
  • preparation for a case manager home visit.
  • To meet with the data specialist of the Dads’ club in order to be exposed to a variety of data collection methods. Learn how to collect data in this specific population.
  • Analyze previously collected data to create educational materials that promote public health practices. Examples of materials can include employment training materials that lead to skill development. Programs to address mental health and health promotion for future clients of the Dads’ Club.
  • Prepare for an educational presentation on the Dads club which utilizes cultural competency. Review current educational material.Compare new and prior educational material to best prepare for a potential presentation
  • Become familiar with additional services provided by Vista Community Clinic. Research additional methods that could potentially help future clients.Provide additional
  • information to those who need it.

Desired Qualifications

Students that are willing to intern for at least 80 hours that are working towards BA or MA

 

Length of Position: Up to a year

Hours per Week: Up to 40 hours per week
