Opportunity Summary 

Position Description

Volunteers may be involved with research and archiving/cataloging information; help with educational programs for elementary students; creating seasonal or topical displays using artifacts and or photographs for the museum or historical homes; responding to research questions; lead a guided tour of the facility (advance training provided); assist with special events for community and/or historical society members; assist with fundraising.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes

Students who volunteer at Heritage Park will learn to create educational and informational displays using artifacts and photos; how to adapt to working with people of all ages and interest levels; an opportunity to learn archival software programs; develop public speaking skills; working in a non-profit organization; time management and working with volunteers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Interested in local history
  • Computer skills
  • Able to write legibly
  • Likes working with people
  • Able to volunteer for a minimum of 2 hours each week.

 

Length of Position: Up to 1 weeks

Hours per Week: Minimum of 2 hours per week
