Opportunity Summary
Position Description
The COMPASS Ambassador will work closely with COMPASS team members to assist in implementing a wide range of support and intervention services to CSUSM students and North San Diego County community members. In addition, the COMPASS Ambassador will assist with data collection, community outreach (phone banking and social media), communication, and reporting.
The COMPASS Ambassador is expected to positively represent the program, department, and CSUSM and serve as a mentor and positive role model for current and prospective students.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes
The COMPASS Ambassador will:
- Improve written and oral communication skills
- Learn and become familiarized with COMPASS services and goals
- Learn about other people's experiences
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
- Detail oriented
- Compassionate/understanding/sensitive
- Willingness to learn
- Passionate towards helping CSUSM students and North San Diego County community
Length of Position: 12-16 weeks
Hours per Week: 6-10 hours
