Tutor Connection At — San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) - Foster Youth & Homeless Education Services (Tutor Connection)
Students will provide one on one tutoring to foster youth for 20 hours a semester.

Provide one on one tutoring for a child or teen in foster care throughout San Diego County. Students in foster care often struggle in school due to the instability they have experienced. are This opportunity is excellent for anyone thinking about entering the teaching field. All sites require fingerprinting.
Tutor youth in all subject matters to improve their academic performance as well as their attitude towards learning. Help them to see their own potential while learning how wonderful it feels to help a child succeed. These matches are monitored for progress, and you will receive tutoring training.
Tutor Information: Tutors would spend about 2 to 3 hours a week in a child’s home. This would be semester-based with a minimum commitment of 20 hours over the course of the semester.
To become a tutor you should

• Give 20 hours over the course of a semester
• Be prepared to be Live Scanned
Hours of Operation
- Monday - Friday after school hours approximately from 2:30 to 7 pm
Students will be learning about the Child Welfare System. Students will become trauma informed and have a better understanding how to educate and support students in the foster care system. Desired Qualifications Students must be enrolled in EDU 364 that has Tutor Connection attached
