Intern to work with our high school mentees in Escondido At — MANA de North County San Diego

Opportunity Summary 

This internship involves working with our Latina teen girls after school in a designated high school in Escondido. We are bringing back our mentoring program to meet in-person, now that students are back in school. The internship also includes remote work doing research assigned by myself to write another biography of a successful Latina in a STEM or business field and to develop small-group activities to be used with high schoolers. The internship does involve keeping records of attendance, contact information, etc. on a Google sheets document.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

How to motivate teen girls to move ahead in life, the life stories of several successful Latinas, how to lead a group of high school girls, how to grow a group of girls (add more members), how to present life lessons to teen girls in an informal setting [the lessons are provided].

The school requires all staff and volunteers to wear masks and either be vaccinated or take weekly COVID tests.
