Leadership Assistant At — Farm House Enterprises

Opportunity Summary

You will come alongside a facilitator of 'good things' in an outdoor farm environment located conveniently in the city. You will help organize the flow of the projects, assist to empower rather than enable a young student to engage in the hands-on project. You will plant seeds in their hearts and minds, believe in them when they don't yet believe in themselves, and encourage 'failure' leading to success! You will learn along with them! We aren't authoritarian, because we too, are always learning! We don't politicize or push one particular world view over another and we don't discuss gender identity issues. These issues are meant for the parents to discern and discuss with their OWN children. We are looking for energetic and adventurous, problem solving, and 'can do' type of people who have super powers to offer. Every single one of us has super powers, even you!

How to Apply:

A resume or one-page write up of your background and your super powers and future super powers you hope to gain would be wonderful. Email resume or one-page write-up to OffToTheFarmhouse@gmail.com and then a text message: 760-644-4816 to introduce yourself.

We then do a phone interview for pre-lim questions, followed by a site walk and shadowing experience where you can 'test drive' by helping out. We then evaluate together if our adventure is a fit for us both.

We only need LIVE SCAN if this is an ongoing arrangement.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes: time management, servant-leadership, compassion and empathy without feeding excuse-making and emotional weaknesses, best practices and procedures to gain best outcomes and depth of learning, patience with yourself and others, tenacity and problem solving, team work with other leadership, organizational strategies, assessing the difference between developmental aptitudes and pure laziness or put another way: learning to identify weaknesses and challenging yourself and them to winsomely take ownership as they apply themselves, stick-to-it-tiveness, a marketable skill set to be able to not only plan but effectively execute a step by step skill whether it be in art or with livestock (hens, pigs, goats, bunny) or learning a life skill, or in body movement classes or digging in the dirt. Lots to learn!

Opportunity Training

Student will listen to a recorded one hour Zoom session that explains SOP (standard operating procedures...read, ways we like to make learning bunches of fun) and our ethos (what makes us, us!)
Student will shadow an experienced lead facilitator of 'good things'.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity

We hand wash with non-toxic solution at every learning station. All of our livestock are friendly but we have best practices with all the animals so that they aren't afraid of humans. We take temps at check-in, as needed. We do most all our learning outdoors in small groups of 12 or less.
