Read with a StudentAt — Bobier Elementary School
We are looking for volunteers who will read with students and support students in some assignments. You will be working with a teacher and be given directions on how to best support the student. Come make a difference in a child's life and give them the opportunity to shine.

With this opportunity, you will learn how to best support students in building their literacy skills and work habits. You will have the chance to give students that one on one attention that builds knowledge, resilience and productive relationships. No experience necessary as we will support you in learning the best practices when working with elementary aged students.
At each visit, you will meet with the teacher at the beginning of the visit and be given explicit instruction on how to best support that student during that reading and/or study session.

- The following required documents can either be uploaded to the interest form, emailed to bobieres@vistausd.org, or you may drop off documents before your first scheduled volunteer appointment.

- Negative TB Test (only if volunteering more than 20 hours). Please contact our office if you have any questions about this.
- Review our Volunteer Handbook.
- Please allow 3 business days for processing. Once approved, you will receive an email to sign up for your scheduled volunteer days/times. You will not be able to sign up for scheduled dates/times until you have completed all of the previous steps.
We request all volunteers to arrive on time and notify us by phone or email if they are unable to attend. Upon arriving on campus, all volunteers must sign in at our office. It is expected that volunteers dress appropriately and adhere to all school rules that our staff and students follow. Lastly, please inform our office when your last day of volunteering will be.
