College and Career Counseling InternshipAt — Well-Suited
If you want to work with students and help them prepare for college and their future career, this is the internship for you! Well-Suited is a non-profit organization that provides one-on-one college and career readiness. We assist students to help them identify and explore their interests with our individualized program. Being a College and Career Counselor allows students to work with middle school and high school students by providing college and career assistance in a remote setting.
By the end of the opportunity students will be able to gain college and career counseling skills and knowledge, communication skills, leadership skills, time management skills, and knowledge of working with students in middle school and high school. Students will have learned how to communicate with students, staff, parents, and schools. Students will have also learned how to prepare and conduct events/workshops in a professional setting.
There will be at least three training meetings for about an hour long. These trainings will go over how to use Canvas, our modules, how to prepare workshops with students, and knowing how to assist each student with their plans. These trainings will also go over how to safely work with students and to keep theirs and their parents contact information safe. Training will also go into more detail on the organization, information of schools, and future meetings for professional development.
