SD4GVP InternAt — San Diegans for Gun Violence Prevention
The student intern will assist with the planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of gun violence prevention events and activities throughout San Diego. Activities may include researching policy, distributing educational materials, tabling local events, media/public relations initiatives, and supporting committees. Community participation and outreach is paramount to fully contribute to the needs of our organization. Interns are expected to spend 2-3 hours per week on tasks, with ample time in the community including some evening and weekend events. Schedule will depend on activity calendar and thus will fluctuate. Internship duration is one semester, or not to exceed 16 weeks. Due to COVID-19, this can be a remote position. In-person duties/activities will be determined based on public health guidelines and directives from the University. This is an unpaid opportunity. The internship provides opportunity for professional networking, resume-building, and thesis possibilities.

As an intern with SD4GVP (San Diegans for Gun Violence Prevention) your Internship Coordinator will be your point person for onboarding with the organization, sharing the background and history, as well as, guiding you to a project that meets the needs of the organization and your interests.
