Opportunity Summary 

Students will assist with our equestrian program working with individuals with and without special needs. Duties include assisting with able-bodied and therapeutic horseback riding lessons, grooming, tacking, barn chores, and general horse care by attending to and working with our twenty-five horses. No prior experience with horses is required.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will have learned how to assist with therapeutic and able-bodied horseback riding lessons, basic horse care, and barn management. They will also have learned how to groom and tack a horse.

Opportunity Training 

Students must attend a volunteer orientation prior to beginning their service.

Opportunity Application Instructions 

Students must submit an "Equestrian Volunteer Application" online ahead of attending an orientation.
