Volunteer TutorAt — A Step Beyond
ASB relies heavily on volunteers to assist our students with one-on-one tutoring in language arts, math, history and science onsite at our campus. Tutors are needed for our tutoring labs Monday-Thursday after school, assisting our students in grades 3rd-12th with their homework. This opportunity provides volunteers the opportunity to work with youth on a personal level and also serve as a mentor. We ask that students commit to tutoring for the entire semester to provide our youth with consistency.
Volunteer tutors will gain the experience of working in a growing nonprofit organization. They will gain skills by working with students on a one-on-one or small group basis. They will gain experience in supporting students with homework and/or school instruction in whatever subjects the student requires assistance.
Students will attend a 30-45 minute orientation to explain what the tutoring support looks like and what to expect.
