InternAt — Project Hope Alliance
Our site-based program provides unique exposure to individual case management and programming within a social service setting. Students will work with highly experienced case managers and program managers across several student age ranges. Interns directly assist clients by providing basic needs assistance to our clients and offering support during monthly program events. Interns also assist in managing and tracking the initial intake-screening process, research available community resources for clients, as well as provide support to program staff on an as-need basis. Program Interns largely have the opportunity to work alongside case management staff by shadowing case managers to learn how to engage with clients, how to provide case management services and assist in developing and implementing improvements in our services.
Interns will have learned about ways to build rapport and connect with youths who are experiencing homelessness. Interns will also learn about the different resources in the community and best case management practices. Interns will learn about assessment methods.
Students will be able to shadow Professional Case Managers to learn about how to work with youth who are experiencing homelessness. Weekly supervision will be provided by Program Internship Manager. Training on trauma informed care will be provided to students which is about 4 hours.
Students would need to submit a resume and cover letter. Upon review, student may be selected to interview with the organization. Students can email Chrissie at chrissie@projecthopealliance.org to express their interest in interning with Project Hope Alliance.
