Opportunity Summary 

Opportunity for Master's in Public Health student.

The Parent and Child Team provides a variety of parenting services. Services include free parenting workshops and the coordination of resources and services to meet individual or family needs through the provision of case management. Extensive data is collected, analyzed, and reported to document program outcomes, challenges, and opportunities to expand program services.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will learn about services available in their immediate community serving families with young children. Child development, parenting, behavior, developmental conditions, care, and coordination of services will be areas that students will learn through the review of program data and analysis completed to draft a report. They will also learn about setting up a data file to track program data.

Opportunity Training 

The student will work with the Program Manager through the internship with specific guidance provided. The PM will set up time to review program guides, data file, and surveys prior to initiating the data review, analysis and reporting.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Most of the internship assignments are administrative in nature. Typing and reading will be the majority of the physical requirements with some light lifting.
