Opportunity Summary 

Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation is an environmental non-profit that's mission is to support the Agua Hedionda Lagoon through education and outreach. Service-learning students can help with either gardening/landscaping in our native plant garden, administrative work, assist with our composting and/or aquaponics programs, trail maintenance/restoration projects, assisting our teachers in our education programs or help our Discovery Center staff with our daily visitors and animal interactions.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

After completing a service-learning opportunity at AHLF, students will have learned what it's like to work at and wear multiple hats of a growing environmental non-profit and participate in many different departments and conversations that are all rooted in the same goal of supporting our local watershed.

Opportunity Training 

Depending on the type of work students are interested in exploring within the environmental non-profit will decide what type of training and education is required.
