Opportunity Summary 

Internship Position Description

Healthy Cougars PAWS is a Student Health & Counseling Services program. Healthy Cougars PAWS are a group of students trained and committed to providing information and assistance to students and the Cal State San Marcos community regarding pertinent health and wellness related issues.

Healthy Cougars PAWS are trained to help encourage and educate their peers to make healthy lifestyle choices through programs, presentations, workshops, group discussions and campus awareness events. Healthy Cougars PAWS serve as individual sources of information, provide appropriate referrals, and serve as Student Health Center advocates.

Experience to be Gained

Students will be trained on various health topics and will gain experience in programming and health education outreach. Students will learn how to collaborate with other student leaders and organizations on/off campus and be recognized as leaders and educators on campus.

Desired Qualifications

Passionate about health and wellness issues, compassionate, empathetic and desire to educate and empower peers to make healthy choices. Be willing to work collaboratively with other team members, be willing to address sensitive health topics, be open minded and non-judgmental. Reliability, responsibility and commitment.

 

Position Start date: Beginning of spring and fall semester (January/August)
