Opportunity Summary 

An Early Reading Mentor is someone who works with young children to help them develop essential reading skills. They use a variety of techniques to help children learn to read, such as phonics, sight words, and interactive reading strategies. Early Reading Mentors will work with children while supervised and in small groups to provide individualized instruction that meets the unique needs of each child. They also work with parents and caregivers virtually to provide guidance on how to support their child's reading development at home. The goal of an Early Reading Mentor is to instill a love of reading in young children and set them on the path to becoming confident, independent readers.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Interns will gain beneficial experience in teaching, working, developing, and leading students.

Opportunity Training 

Training will include tutorials for Google applications that interns will be working with, and training for group setting mentoring for students through a remote setting.
