Picture a school that fits the needs of every student—a community school. The school cares for the whole child, expands learning horizons, builds family relationships, and works together to realize a shared vision. Mission Elementary School partners with stakeholders to create the conditions students need to thrive. You’ll have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of young students and their families while gaining valuable experience and developing important skills. Join us for ten weeks and be part of a community of learners dedicated to making a difference! 60 minute Orientation On-going training support as needed
Service Learning Students will learn proper school safety and ethic procedures during orientation This can include: Community School Model Social media policy Checking in/ out at office Lockdown/ emergency procedures Child development and appropriate interactions And more
Confirm interest for placement with Community School Coordinator at the respective school site via email (with included resume) at the beginning of the school semester. Community School Coordinator will conduct an over the phone interview with students to confirm experience and goals from participating in service learning opportunity. Service Learning Students are encouraged to email Community School Coordinator as soon as possible as positions fill quickly.
