Literacy Enrichment VolunteerAt — Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos
Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Literacy Enrichment Volunteers. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in providing academic and reading support to our youth ages 6-8 years old. The goal is to promote early literacy and a love for reading, and improve academic achievement.
This opportunity will help students enhance their communication skills by reading aloud to youth. Students will need to articulate words clearly and engage with youth, allowing them to build confidence in public speaking and leadership skills.
Students will have to complete a background check and volunteer orientation upon acceptance. Volunteers will meet with Branch Directors and Youth Development Professionals who will go over safety training and provide guidance on how to run the reading program.
All volunteers are required to complete an application on our website: https://www.boysgirlsclubsm.org/volunteer. After review, students will be asked to complete a phone screening with the Events & Volunteer Coordinator. If accepted, the student will be asked to pay a $25 fee to cover a background check and drug screening.
