Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for someone to help us to connect with community businesses and residents on the important issue of plastic waste that burdens us all.

 

We believe that by providing a positive, can-do approach to this huge problem, we can not only open up a converstion on what real-world engagement of plastic waste can look like, but also model engagement of the other huge problems we face that also seem just too big to compehend, let alone engage.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

We hope students will learn community engagement, as well as how small business grow, especially non-profits. By helping us engage in the quixotic mission of tackling the long-ignored problem of plastic recycling we hope applicants will learn valuable skills, from building a business, to how to engage real-world issues.

Opportunity Training 

In-person training will be provided on basic warehouse equipment and recycling equipment, as well as small business growth, marketing and community outreach

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Safety briefing will be provided on warehouse equipment, and recycling balers

An interest in sustainability is prefered, though not required
