Opportunity Summary 

This internship offers the chance to gain experience in sales and service within the hospitality sector. At the CCAEF Conference Center, you'll be involved in coordinating various events such as weddings, quinceañeras, conferences, festivals, and more. Ideally, the intern will express interest in part-time or full-time employment following the internship or upon completion of academic endeavors.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Skills and Knowledge Interns May Acquire: Sales: - Effective representation of the Center with enthusiasm and professionalism. - Developing communication skills as a liaison between clients and Catering Sales. - Conducting property tours and participating in client meetings. - Handling incoming calls, walk-in inquiries, and distributing leads. - Coordinating and selling various event elements such as décor, linens, and china. - Preparation of trade show collateral, sales packets, and other promotional materials. Event Coordination and Planning: - Facilitating communication between various departments including Catering Sales, Food & Beverage, Banquets, and Accounting. - Coordinating entry-level events and managing house accounts. - Serving as the point of contact and coordinator during assigned events (e.g., weddings, meetings, special events). - Assisting Catering Sales Managers in the planning process from inception to post-event follow-up. - Proficiency in typing, editing, and proofreading correspondence including contracts, BEOs, and letters. - Maintaining a trace file system and monitoring the event calendar. - Assisting with tasks related to estimated invoices, deposits, payments, and ensuring consistency of information. Administration: - Taking ownership of office organization and appearance. - Maintaining account files and updating databases. - Updating projections, estimates, and quotes. - Assisting with marketing efforts and monitoring online platforms. - Contributing to special projects, menu revisions, and other marketing initiatives. - Attending staff meetings as required.

Opportunity Training 

The intern will participate in a company orientation training session, undergo direct hands-on training under the guidance of their immediate supervisor, shadow team members, and attend scheduled team meetings. Additionally, the intern will be provided access to the company's virtual training system.
