Grassroots DevelopmentAt — The Foundation for Community Development and Empowerment (FCDE)

Opportunity Summary

FCDE’s philosophy is deeply rooted in and committed to positive sustainable development practices that uplift communities and make comprehensive and lasting change. FCDE empowers communities to direct and achieve their own development objectives by increasing the capacity of organizations already working in the region. FCDE’s approach ensures that local organizations garner the necessary tools and skills to strengthen their work and increase impact in their communities. Recognizing the interconnections of community development required to yield broad-based impact, FCDE partners with local NGO/CBOs working in any of six domains: Agriculture, Energy & Environment; Health; Livelihoods; Social Justice; Women’s Empowerment; and Youth & Education. This experience will allow students to work with grassroots organizations in a variety of ways. The biggest need is grant writing, marketing and communications, social media outreach and design, and website development.
