Climate to Action Student PodcastAt — CSUSM Sustainability Program

Opportunity Summary 

Climate To Action is a student produced podcast with the themes of climate action, climate justice, and Indigenous knowledge. The podcast is intended to provide students a platform and resources to transfer climate anxiety into action and problem-solving, to make meaningful contributions to informing their communities about the climate crisis, and to highlight opportunities to become climate activists.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students who participate in the Climate To Action Podcast will develop the following skills:

 

1. Team work and leadership

2. Project development and coordination

3. Networking

4. Public speaking

5. Podcast production

6. Publicity and promotions

Opportunity Training 

Faculty mentors will provide hands-on training in the following areas: 

1. Researching and producing backgrounders on podcast episode themes

2. Identifying and interviewing potential subject matter experts

3. Writing scripts

4. Recording and editing episodes

5. Developing and disseminating podcast promotional materials
