Behavioral Health Research Assistant At — Cannabis and Tobacco Research Lab of San Diego
The Cannabis and Tobacco (CaT) Research Lab of San Diego is committed to advancing public health through cannabis and tobacco behavioral research. We are passionate about improving community health through testing smoking cessation treatments and harm reduction approaches and creating regulatory science.
The CaT Lab is currently conducting studies to understand demand for cannabis and tobacco, use of cannabis and tobacco, and behavioral health among young adults. We are also conducting a randomized controlled trial to modify perceptions and behaviors related to tobacco, e-cigarette, and cannabis waste, which will address a major public health and environmental problem. We are also an internship site for the CSUSM/UCSD Smoke and Vape Free Scholars Initiative Program for Reducing Tobacco Disease in Diverse Communities.
The CaT Lab is led by Dr. Kim Pulvers, a clinical health psychologist and Professor of Psychology at California State University San Marcos. Dr. Pulvers received her Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology and Master of Public Health from the University of Kansas, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Diego.
Alumni of the CaT Lab often pursue graduate education and careers in clinical or counseling psychology, public health, clinical social work, health care, and behavior-based work, education, and research.
